THE PROBLEM
Guests crowding the entrance
With qWisely: Guests join the waitlist by scanning the QR code at the door. Their spot is saved on their phone, so they can wait nearby instead of blocking your entrance.
Guests scan the QR code at your entrance, join the waitlist and see a live wait time. They can take a walk or browse nearby, and when a table frees up your host calls them straight to it.
CHALLENGES WE SOLVE
A crowd blocking the entrance, a host juggling a paper list and guests walking away because nobody could tell them how long it would be.
THE PROBLEM
With qWisely: Guests join the waitlist by scanning the QR code at the door. Their spot is saved on their phone, so they can wait nearby instead of blocking your entrance.
THE PROBLEM
With qWisely: Set a typical dining time for each table size. Guests see a live position and estimated wait before and after they join, which gets more accurate as qWisely learns your real table times.
THE PROBLEM
With qWisely: On supported phones, guests can turn on alerts for about 5 minutes before their turn and when their table is ready, even with the phone locked.
THE PROBLEM
With qWisely: Guests pick their party size when they join, so your host sees “Table for 4” next to each token. When a table frees up, use “Call now” on the right party and they’re told which table to go to.
THE PROBLEM
With qWisely: Skip them so the next one or two parties are seated first. They keep their place and get notified. After two skips, mark them as a no-show.
THE PROBLEM
With qWisely: Insights show your busiest hours and days, average wait, walk-away rate and how long tables actually stay occupied, so you can plan staff and opening hours.
STEP-BY-STEP SETUP
Most restaurants and cafés are ready in a few minutes. Here is a setup that works well for a dine-in waitlist.
Sign up with your email, then enter your restaurant’s name and address. Only you and your team need an account. Guests never do.
Have a separate takeaway or pickup counter? Add it as its own business with its own QR code, so pickups don’t mix with the dining waitlist.
Add a service point for each table that seats one party at a time. When a guest is called, they’re told which table to go to.
Is a section closed tonight? Switch those tables off so wait times stay realistic.
Add one option per party size, with a typical dining time. Guests choose their party size when they join, and the time is used for wait estimates.
| Waitlist option | Dining time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Table for 2 | 45 min | — |
| Table for 4 | 60 min | — |
| Table for 6 | 75 min | — |
| Large group (8+) | 90 min | — |
| Counter seat | 30 min | — |
Leave the price empty for dine-in options. Insights show how long tables really stay occupied, so you can fine-tune these times.
From the Team page, add your host and floor staff with their own email and password, and choose what each person can do.
Print your QR code for the door, the host stand and the window. Optionally, show the display board on a screen near the entrance.
Your host runs the waitlist from a phone or tablet at the host stand.
